Tina Louise is a popular American artist, writer and actress, best known for her role as Ginger Grant in the 1960s television show Gilligan's Island. The actress began her career as a stage actor in the 1950s and began at the age of Two's Company a musical by Bettle Davis. She then acted in a several Broadway productions before she became an international star alongside Li'l Abner in. The singer also released her debut music album It's Time for Tina during the same year. Louise began her journey into Hollywood as Griselda Walden on God's Big Acre, a dramatic film that debuted in 1958.The movie received wide acclaim and Louise was awarded an award called the Golden Globe Award in the New Star of the Year category. This time she attended the Actors Studio of New York. Lee Strasberg was her teacher. In 1964, she was offered her second notable role, when CBS hired her to play Ginger Grant. Louise kept juggling her career between Broadway television and Hollywood and portrayed more serious roles, as opposed to her image as glamorous. However, in recent years, she has made a impression as a director for many popular TV shows, including Supernatural or The 100. She was born in Essex on August 28, 1965 and her family moved to Toronto when she was three where she subsequently spent the majority of her childhood and teenage years. They settled her in Vancouver following her selection to play Samantha Carter.
